Memories Of Summer 2016

Hello you beautiful people!
As I'm writing this, it's the 1st of September, but this blog post is probably not going up until next week, sorry!

Anyways, the fact that now it's September means that summer is over :( I'm also going back to school on the 12th this month and I can't even.

Since summer is over, I've decided to talk to you about all of the amazing memories that I created in the beautiful summer of 2016.

I have to start saying that this summer is definitely one of my most favourite summers ever.

The beginning of summer also meant the end of junior high for me. Senior year of junior high was the best year out of all the previous years. I bonded with my classmates more and I'm sad that I'll have to leave that behind.

But over all, this summer was full of fun things. To begin with, I started going out more, hanging out with my best friend, going for ice cream or a walk around town. Maybe this sounds boring, or not fun whatsoever, but honestly, I had so much fun with my best friend this year. Every single walk had something special and a little something from every day/night that I will never forget.

This year, I went to the Waterpark. I've been there before but this year was different and totally a highlight of the whole year.
I went to slides that I hadn't been on before, spent most of the day there and generally had fun.

My school's theatre club also had been preparing a theatrical play since the start of the school year, and they showed it around the end of June, so it's a summer memory right? I also got a bit emotional at the end because I'm going to miss everyone so much, since not everyone is going to the same senior high school.

Living on an island means that there are a lot of pretty beaches. I love taking pictures of the sunset while being at the beach, so I have so many of them (yeah I'm pretty basic).

If you've seen a blogpost that I uploaded a while I go, I went on a boat trip to Lindos. Click here if you want to see more pictures.
Again, that has to be another highlight of my year.

Another highlight of both this summer and the whole year in general is my trip to the Netherlands. It was just for a few days, but still I had so much fun. I love traveling and wouldn't say no to an opportunity to travel. You can click here if you want to know more about what we did on that trip.

I also met two internet friends. One of them is honestly one of the best internet friends you could ever meet. She's honestly so sweet and we've been talking for about a year now (maybe less).
I didn't really talk to the other one, I just bumped into her and she seemed familiar since she does Youtube videos. But I decided to walk up to her and say hi even if we didn't really speak.

Every summer and specifically in August, there is a fun fair. We went there at around 7 pm and stayed until 11 pm. We had kebabs, cotton candy and donut holes (they're not really donut holes but I don't know how to explain it in English).

Some small thing that I just wanted to mention are:

  • I'm probably not the only one who started playing Pokemon Go right? But I didn't get as obsessed as some other people, but I still enjoyed it.
  • I'm going to say just one phrase for this one. Mid-Season finale of Pretty Little Liars. Nothing more. (Everyone is shook.)

That's pretty much it!
I have to say that I am so, so, so thankful of everyone that made summer 2016 so special and fun (in real life or online).
Here's to more happy 2016 memories to come!

Trip to The Netherlands!

Hello you beautiful people! So I kept my promise and stuck to the weekly blog uploads. By the time you're reading this I'm back home but I spent a couple of days in the Netherlands! We went there to visit family and, of course, I had to take a bunch of pictures to write a blogpost about it.

I have to say I loooove traveling. I have been traveling from a young age and I've grown to love it now. And I have an weird obsession over airports. I don't know what it is but I love being in airports. I might do a different blog post discussing traveling and stuff.

Aaanyways, let's start with the blog!

Day 1

We left for the airport around at 20:00. On our way there, I got the chance to take a picture of the sunset.

We had about an hour before our boarding time, so we got some water, walked around the duty free section, and then waited in our gate.

We traveled with Corendon Airlines, I tried taking a picture of the plane, but it was dark and I couldn't find a good angle.

I didn't get the chance to take any pictures on board, because I had turned my phone off.

The flight was 3 and a half hour long. During the flight, I had an instant noodle cup and a sandwich. It was really late, but I couldn't really fall asleep.

When we arrived in Schiphol, the airport in Amsterdam, it was already 1 am, so when we arrived at my uncle's house we went straight to bed.

Day 2

Day two was more like day one, since we didn't really do anything on the actual day one.

That day we went to the grocery store to get things for us to bring back home and also stuff for my little cousin's birthday celebration.

Then we went back at the house and stayed a bit. Afterwards we went to the town, and specifically to the mall. I didn't buy a lot of stuff, otherwise I would have done a haul.

Again, I didn't really take a lot of pictures there but here's a picture of a bunch of candies at a store.

We had lunch at McDonald's and then decided to go back to the house.

When we got there, me and one of my cousins decided to play Minecraft and Little Big World on the Playstation.

After that, we decided that we should go to the Pokestop nearby. Yeah, I'm talking about PokemonGo. I also hatched a 2 km egg and it was a Ratata. (P.S. I did get annoyed).

On the way to the house, we walked through a beautiful street. We don't get these kind of neighbourhoods where I live, so I had to take pictures.

When we got back to the house, we had Chinese for dinner and ice cream for dessert.

After that nothing really happened. We just watched TV and then went to bed.

Day 3

It was my little cousin's birthday, and there were a lot of people visiting that day. Also, my grandma visited us.

My little cousin loves Frozen, so her cake had to be Frozen themed.

I will just write the highlights of the day.

We had some sandwiches for lunch, more people came to visit, had some Dutch food for dinner and played FireBoy and WaterGirl before we went to bed.

Also, there were some hot air balloons flying, and it was really nice-looking.

Day 4

Day 4 was our last day in The Netherlands. We left the house at 10:00. On our way to the airport, I got the chance to take a picture of a windmill, something that is pretty common in the Netherlands.

When we got to the airport, we went through security, and since we had a couple of hours left, we decided that we would have a look around the shops and then have a snack. Of course we had to do some airplane spotting.

During the flight, I watched some Youtube videos that I had to catch up to. Also, as a typical person that loves traveling, I had to take an airplane window picture.

Here are over the Alps.

Then we got home.

That was it for my trip to The Netherlands! It was only for a few days but I had fun!

I enjoy writing these traveling blogposts, so I really hope I'm going on a trip again soon!

Write to you soon! Byee!

Boat Trip to Lindos!

Hey everyone! Long time no see huh? Well not really "see" but you get the point. Sorry for not posting for a while but I didn't have access to a PC. But I'm back! I have a couple of posts planned, I really hope this works!

Anyways, today I decided to talk you through my little boat trip to Lindos, a village in Rhodes, Greece.

I went to the same trip last year but I have to say that this year I enjoyed it a liiiiiitle bit more. I went with some of my really close friends both times.

Also I loved taking all of the pictures. The whole village is wonderful and the beaches there are as well!

As the title says, we went there by boat. I didn't really get the chance to take picture of the boat in general, so here's a picture of one of the sides! We left the city centre at about 8:00 am. I had to wake up at 6:00 but it was worth it.

We had a couple of stops -mostly at hotels- in the way, so more people could join. I really liked how this hotel looked, even though you can't really see.

After two and a half hours approximately, we finally arived! We had to walk from the harbour to the central place of the village, so we had a stop on the way to have a snack, even though the distance wasn't that far. This was the view from the place that we stopped at. I had to take a picture!

After our little break, we started wandering around, and eventually got hungry. We found a restaurant that was owned by a friend of ours and they kindly invited us in.
I decided to go for a burger with fries. (I tried to take a nice instagram-worthy picture, I don't think I've achieved my goal :3)

It was slowly time for us to go back to the port, but on the way we could see the the Acropolis, and we stopped (again) to take some pictures.

We had about half an hour left, so we thought that it would be nice to have a swim at the beach near the harbour. It wasn't anything special though, we just stayed for about ten minutes. The boat was going to have a stop anyways, so we decided that we would swim then.

We went on board, and eventually left Lindos. But as I said, we would stop later on to have another swim.

The water was lovely and I had an absolute blast. Here are some pictures I took before we left the stop.

We sat at the front of the boat and it was so beautiful. Unfortunately, I only got this picture. It was also kinda hard to take any other pictures there, since it was pretty windy and water started splashing us at one point. Also,  when I was standing, I was pretty unstable so I the pictures would be blurry.

We arrived back at the city centre (well not really the city centre, but the harbour there, you'll understand me if you've ever been in Rhodes).

I had such an amazing time that day, and I hope it will be as fun next year!

I really hope you enjoyed this post. As I said, I have a lot of ideas in my mind for the future and I hope I will actually stick to the schedule now.

I hope to talk to you next week! Byee!

Tips on how to cheer up!

Hello everyone! How are you doing? Hope everything's okay :)
I AM OUT OF SCHOOL!!! High school here I come. Not 100% sure if I'm ready, but I guess we'll find out this September.

Anyways, I know that not every day is going to be all rainbows and smiley faces. So for this week's blog post, I decided to show you some tips on how to cheer your self up in days that you feel under the weather.

Most of these tips are tips that I use when I'm not feeling well. I hope you find them useful as well!

  • Create a playlist with your favourite songs.

When I listen to my favourite songs, I don't know but it always cheers me up. At the moment, I am loving "Hair" by Little Mix. I don't know but this song is so up lifting. Try avoid listening to any sad songs as well because this will ruin your mood.

  • Eat your favourite food.

Don't think about it, at least not now. Just eat whatever you like. Whatever makes you happy.

  • Draw.

You can create your own drawing or get a colouring book, you know, the ones you always see online. This is more stress relieving, but if you enjoy drawing or designing, it will get you in a better mood.

  • Surround yourself by people that make you happy.

That's an important thing to do. I mean, imagine being surrounded by people you don't like or people that are not happy. Would that make you happy? I don't think so.

  • Cuddle your pet.

Pets can make you feel better instantly. If you've got one of course. If you don't, try looking at cute cats' pictures or pictures of puppies. That can work too.

  • Watch your favourite movie or TV series.

This will make you happier, especially if it's  a comedy. Lately I've been loving "Girl Meets World".

  • Have a relaxing bath.

Grab a bath bomb, create bubbles and, voila, you'll feel somewhat better.

What's On My Phone

Hello everyone! How is everyone going? Hope you're all okay! I have finished my History, English and Maths exams. This week we've got Ancient Greek and Biology.
Another thing I wanted to talk about before writing the blog post is the Eurovision Song Contest 2016. Can we pleaaase make Mans and Petra hosts every year? I mean, they're the best hosts, no one will ever be able to top them and Love Love Peace Peace is the actual ESC 2016 winner. The ESC is something I've been watching since I was younger and I absolutely loved it. Anyways, let's get into the actual post!

For this week's blog, I decided I want to do a "What's On My Phone". Hope you enjoy!

My lock screen is Bethany Mota, and my home screen is Joe Sugg. Don't judge, I'm a fangirl.

When it comes to my phone, I am such a clean freak. I don't like having unnecessary stuff and I have my apps sorted in files. I have those files on the bottom of my home screen. In the first one, I've got Phone. Contacts, Messages and Viber.

The second file is named "Idk", since is just a miscellaneous apps, such as Settings, My Files. Voice Recorder, Clock, Memo and Clean Master.

The third one is all about photography and video apps. So, Camera, Gallery, PicsArt, Phonto, Retrica, VivaVideo Pro, InShot, Media Studio and VSCO (I use VSCO to edit my Instagram pictures).

The last one is my most used file, named Internet (Creative, I know). There I have Twitter, Snapchat, Instagram, YouTube, Chrome, Tumblr, Play Store, Messenger, Wattpad and Facebook. If you wanna check out any of my social stuff, check my blog home page. There you can find my twitter, tumblr and youtube channel.

I've got three slides in my home screen. The first one is empty so I can see the home screen picture. The second is the main one, with clock, google search and apps like Flashlight, Calculator, Calendar and Browser. The last slide has Music and a picture slide.

So that's it for this week's blog post! If you want to check out the song I've been loving this week, go check my blog's home page. I am going to be changing the song every week, so make sure you check it out!

Tweet me (@mynicoleness) with what you want to see next and I'll see you next week with another blog post!

Bye!

Tips to help you with your exams!

Hello everyone and welcome back to my blog! This is my first actual blog post so yay! Today I decided to show you some tips to help you with your exams. My exams are starting this Tuesday (17/05) and we have a week off to study. So these are some tips I actually use while studying for my exams and I hope they help you too!

  • Manage your time.

Before you start doing anything, you'll have to plan your studying schedule. It will be less stressful if you know that you have time to study and that you won't have to do that the night before. Try and plan studying for your subject a couple of days before, and have one more extra day just to revise everything you studied those days.

  • Find a comfortable space.

Next, you have to find your studying spot. Sometimes your desk is not the most comfortable place for you to study on. So, some alternatives I suggest are your bed or throwing some pillows on the floor to sit on. I personally study on a big pouf that I've got. But honestly, it's up to you.

  • Get away from any destruction.

I don't know about you, but I find this the most difficult part of the whole "studying for exams" thing. What you can do is mute your phone, log off your accounts or even delete the applications. Though, it will be a lot of work to download them all back, so I don't really suggest that last one. You can give it to your parents and tell them not to give it back to you for another hour or something. Just try to block everything that can destruct you.
  • Underline the important.

A lot of times, books have a lot of extra information you probably don't need to know for your exam. So the best thing to do is underline the things you have to learn. Personally speaking, I vary my ways of underlining, depending on what is important for me to learn. I underline with a highlighter all of the important things whilst I underline with pencil the less important ones. I also do a little wave under all the examples and the dates and I circle the things that I need to know the definition of. Afterwards, you can also underline with markers of different colours the things you know really well, things that confuse you still and things like that.

  • Make flash cards.

For any definitions you have to study, even if those are word or science definitions, you should make flash cards to help you with studying. Write the word in the one side and the definition on the other.

  • Have some breaks.

You have to let your mind breathe a little bit. Have 2-minute or 5-minute breaks once in a while to have a snack and drink something. Just don't start doing something during the break that is going to make it longer, so I'd suggest to not use your phone during the break, but it's up to you.

  • Have a snack and a glass of water near you.

In case you don't want to waste any time, you can have your favourite snack near you. Either that's some fruit or potato chips. Also, it's important for you to stay hydrated, so it would be good if you had a glass of water as well.

  • Revise.

The morning before you take your exam, spend some time revising what you've learnt. If you're planning to study chapters you hadn't already studied, that will be difficult, but you can do it. Still, it will be much more relieving if you know that you have finished with studying, so that's one of the reasons managing your time is important.

I really hope you enjoyed this post, and I hope I have helped you! Tweet me which is your first exam and also tweet me if you have anymore tips!

Bye and see you soon!

p.s. I might be uploading every Sunday so I can have a specific schedule, what do you think?
